(Manila, Philippines, November 5, 2013) — The Healthcare Information Management Outsourcing Association of the Philippines (HIMOAP) and the Department of Science and Technology’s Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) are urging healthcare stakeholders to build on the HIM sector’s potential. This will be among the key discussions in the 4th Healthcare Information Management Outsourcing Services Congress (HIMOSC) taking place on November 12, 2013 at the InterContinental Hotel, Makati City.

HIMOAP, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, promises highly insightful panels and an array of networking opportunities in the country’s biggest healthcare outsourcing event of the year. This year’s theme, “Intensity 10: Propelling Healthcare Information Management to Exponential Growth,” reflects the industry’s consistent progress locally and globally.

“We have carefully evaluated the industry and determined the most relevant topics, as well as speakers who can provide valuable information from different perspectives. We see HIMOSC as a springboard for the fundamental growth of the HIM industry,” said Dr. Josefina Lauchangco, HIMOAP president.

The whole-day event is divided into six plenary topics on policies affecting healthcare outsourcing; enriching talent for global competitiveness; preparation for the implementation of  the International Classification of Diseases-10 (ICD-10); building on global breakthroughs to innovate healthcare technology in the Philippines; best practices in HIM services; and envisioning the future of the Philippines’ HIM industry.

Leaders of HIM companies, industry experts from HIMOAP, the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and government officials from the Department of Health (DOH) and DOST-ICTO will spearhead the discussions.

C-level executives in the HIM sector, operations managers and personnel, HR and training personnel, IT managers and vendors, and representatives from government, academe, hospitals, and pharmaceutical and insurance companies are encouraged to attend. The 4th HIMOSC is organized by HIMOAP and DOST-ICTO in partnership with TeamAsia and the support of Cognizant, M*Modal, Globe Business, SPi Global, TeleDevelopment, DumaTek-PI, Maxicare, and MediCard.
