(Manila, Philippines, December 13, 2012) — Alpha Aviation Group (AAG), the world’s leading aviation training provider, is continuously expanding operations across Europe, Middle East, and Southeast Asia, specifically in locations where there is strong market growth, such as the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and the Philippines.
AAG has forged partnerships with an estimated 80 percent of the country’s leading and expanding commercial airline companies such as Philippine Airlines, Zest Air, SEAir, Cebu Pacific and Airphil Express to train these companies’ professional pilots.
AAG’s state-of-the-art academy, located in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, is equipped with world-class learning and recreational facilities. Ground school trainings are conducted in briefing rooms, and classrooms installed with the cutting-edge computer-based training facilities. Accommodations are on-site and students may choose from dormitory-style, single and twin en-suite rooms. The campus also features a gym, dining areas that serve local and international fare, a student lounge, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
According to AAG Philippines chief operating officer Kunal Sharma, the demand for pilots will reach approximately 183,200 in the Asia Pacific Region in the next 20 years. This is due to the rise of low-cost carriers (LCC) throughout the world and the single-aisle airplanes such as the Airbus A320, which will account for majority of deliveries. Approximately 34 percent of deliveries will be coming from the Asia-Pacific region. To help produce highly competent and professional pilots, AAG Philippines trains these cadets with the use of their state-of-the-art resources. Last year, the academy launched the A320 Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS), which behaves like the actual A320.
Flying high with AAG
“Our academy in the Philippines offers aviation courses, each dedicated to facilitate in the pilot’s mastery of the aircraft through high fidelity simulators used in computer-based trainings,” said AAG General Manager Nigel Harris. “These courses are designed to comply with international standard safety and procedures. Aspiring and professional pilots can avail them depending on their aircraft specialties.”
The Airline Pilot Training course is the fastest method towards qualifying for the airline. The 18 month course is comprised of all the elements required for an aspiring airline pilot to qualify for the First Officer rank on the A320. Cadets undergo 230 hours of basic flight training then proceed to the Airbus 320 training.
AAG Philippines’ accredited flight simulators are used to conduct modules such as multi-crew cooperation, A320 Integrated Procedures Training, and various A320 Full Flight Simulator courses.
With aviation courses being highly dependent on Full Flight Simulators (FFS), aviation training providers must secure global industry certifications. This year, AAG Philippines received two certifications from the mention European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) for their A320 FFS. “Our EASA certificate and CAAP accreditation mark another milestone for AAG Philippines and our mission of delivering quality aviation training services to our partners in the airline industry,” said Merit Gabriel, Vice President-Commercial of AAG Philippines.
“We produce an average of 70 graduates per year including graduated from all courses,” said Harris. “Among AAG Philippines’ graduates, 98.36% are now employed by local airlines. On average, students get hired between two weeks to two months after successful completion of the course.”
