ADEC Group and Zuellig Pharma form KPO Joint Venture
Manila, Philippines — ADEC Group, a global market provider of customized outsourcing solutions, announced an agreement with pharmaceutical distributor Zuellig Pharma to form a knowledge process outsourcing venture.
According to executives of the two firms, the venture will cater to the global pharmaceutical and health-care sectors, providing them knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) and business process outsourcing (BPO) services. Operating under a 50-50 ownership agreement, the venture will be incorporated in Singapore under the name “PharmaKPO”.
KPO typically refers to non-voice, complex knowledge-driven services, while BPO is more commonly associated with process-driven customer care and transactional services.
“Pharma KPO will leverage ADEC Group’s and Zuellig Pharma’s commitment to their shareholders to proactively anticipate and capitalize on industry trends to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer experience,” said James Donovan, CEO of ADEC Group. “Our objective is to facilitate operational changes by streamlining costly and repetitive back office and support processes to enable clients to refocus on core strategic activities,” he explained.
Donovan said Pharma KPO expects to capitalize on competitive synergies created by the joint venture. “There is a high level of domain expertise and efficiency that our companies are known for in their respective space. This venture enables us to take advantage of cost-driven business opportunities by providing innovative processes to support the highly competitive pharmaceutical industry,” he said.
Pharma KPO will focus initially on providing information technology, business and knowledge process outsourcing, back-office processes, and general administrative and support functions to its pharmaceutical client firms.
