To say that working on an event can be challenging, is an understatement. No matter how small the size or scope, the level of attention to detail remains the same for every event that TeamAsia produces. I can say this with confidence as TeamAsia took on the huge Kyäni Asia Convention 2016, an event expecting over 2000 delegates, that I was tasked to directly manage a mere few weeks after joining the company. It was, by all accounts, a baptism by fire, and I am happy to say that I am all the better for it.
Kyäni Asia Convention 2016 was assigned to me on my second month with TeamAsia, and at first I doubted my skills to take command of an event of this scale. It was not only massive, it also had so many moving parts which needed careful tending. A colleague advised me not to worry. She said that after completing this successfully, I would have the proficiency to handle any event that will come my way.
It was an event that tested my mettle as it had different components that forced me to be at my A-game for every single moment. It was a heady mix of all the types of corporate events –with registration, sessions, dinner, celebration, recognition, store, exhibit, sponsorship, etc. all rolled into one.
Though I was able to manage the event to the best of my capabilities, I would have not succeeded if not for the continued support and guidance of my TeamAsia family. People like our Program Operations Manager Karen Balce, Experience Director Pamela Jocson and TeamAsia President Monette Iturralde-Hamlin were there to help me make the most of the experience.
I am proud to say that our client was very satisfied by the service that we’ve provided them. Kyäni Philippines General Manager Kate Bellosillo was very effusive and even said that, “if not TeamAsia, no one can do it.” This line became my inspiration to strive and work on this project together with my Account Manager Jenny Uriarte.
All in all, Kyäni Asia Convention 2016 is a formative and educational experience not only for me but for everyone involved in this project. It is a rare opportunity to be part of such a momentous event, and I will be forever grateful for this opportunity.
