Best Friends of the Forest (BFF) Campaign
Challenge
The Forest Foundation of the Philippines (FFP) is a non-government organization that promotes protecting the country’s forests. The organization wanted to reach out to the public, specifically to millennials, so they could raise awareness on forest protection. To do this, TeamAsia generated awareness through different channels such as social media and on ground events.
Game Plan
TeamAsia launched the Best Friends of the Forest (BFF) Campaign, which tapped four different Best Friends of the Forest: Gideon Lasco, Jen Horn, Niccolo Jose, and the UP mountaineers.
The campaign focused on sparking meaningful conversations both online and offline. Forest Foundation’s Facebook page shared “Treevia of the day”, a series of trivia about different trees in the country’s forests, and “Stories of our land,” which highlighted the country’s key protected areas. This shed more light on Forest Foundation’s advocacy online.
The campaign also showed how each BFF protected the Philippine forests. Offline, we had multiple on ground events where they talked about their advocacies, such as the BFF trails, the BFF watercolor painting session, a hike through La Mesa Eco Park, and the BFF Treevia night, a culminating trivia game with various media. To bring the BFF’s advocacies online and ignite more conversations on the topic, their activities were also documented on Forest Foundation’s Facebook page.
