BPAP announces 4th International Outsourcing Summit

Are we entering the Golden Age of outsourcing?

(Manila, Philippines, April 16, 2012) —The Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) announced that the 4th annual International Outsourcing Summit will take place Oct. 7-9, 2012 and will feature two days of plenary and breakout sessions led by approximately 100 respected industry executives, influential analysts, and top government officials. More than 500 delegates representing the industry, suppliers, and clients of third-party services providers are expected.

The Philippines is the number one provider of voice services in the world according to studies by IBM and Everest Group. Its non-voice, complex services sector is also expanding rapidly, and is number two globally. As a result, the Philippines has become an important venue for industry events.

Summit discussions will revolve around the question, “Have we entered the golden age of outsourcing?” according to organizers. “Developments in technology, expanding demand for services, and shifts in public policy in countries that provide IT-BPO services as well as those that contract these services are creating major challenges and opportunities for the global IT-BPO industry. How is, and will, the industry respond?,” BPAP executive director for industry affairs Raymond Lacdao asked.

According to Lacdao, “this year’s Summit will seek to increase understanding of these new drivers of growth as well as the challenges, their impact, and how the industry is likely to adapt business models and strategies in response.”

The three-day Summit will feature keynote presentations by industry and domain experts; panel discussions with top industry executives from around the region and other respected and influential resource persons; gala dinners; business matching sessions; exclusive briefings; unconferencing sessions; and, a supplier exhibit. It is expected to attract over 500 top-level executives and key government officials from the IT-BPO and GIC industry, services centers, and key markets around the world.

“Sessions are designed to provide an interactive platform to support vibrant discussions and meaningful exchanges of viewpoints,” Lacdao explained. “As the Summit’s theme implies, the perspective is both global and local. Global in the sense of growing demand and increasing breadth of services. It is local because speakers, panelists, and delegates will evaluate mature, developing, and emerging services centers and their expertise, their people, and their business environments.”

Lacdao said the Summit will provide significant returns for delegates, including timely, highly relevant, and compelling panel discussions, actual participation in those discussions, and multiple networking opportunities with the most influential and respected IT-BPO industry leaders in the world. Seats are expected to be fully subscribed, and Lacdao encouraged industry executives to register online at their first opportunity at www.internationaloutsourcingsummit.com.

Lacdao said BPAP has engaged strategic marketing communications firm TeamAsia to design and produce the Summit. TeamAsia president Monette Hamlin said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to once again work with BPAP to produce what we believe is one of the most important meetings in the world for the IT-BPO industry. For three years each Summit has grown larger and more impactful, and we’ll see this again this year.”
