BPA/P announces International Outsourcing Summit 2010

Partners with TeamAsia and Tholons to produce, support second summit

(Manila, Philippines, April 6, 2009) — The Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P) announced that it has partnered for the second time with TeamAsia to produce the International Outsourcing Summit 2010 (IOS).

According to BPA/P CEO Oscar Sañez, the IOS will take place October 26-27. BPA/P is the umbrella association for the offshore outsourcing industry in the Philippines. TeamAsia is an award-winning strategic marketing communications firm.

Sañez also announced that Tholons, a consulting firm specializing in the offshore outsourcing industry—frequently referred to as the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry—is the first confirmed financial and advisory partner for IOS 2010. Aside from financial support, Tholons will assist BPA/P and TeamAsia in designing conference sessions and nominating and inviting speakers and panelists.

“This year’s conference will again feature top executives and analysts from industry leading organizations,” Sañez said. “The theme of the conference—Global Market Leaders Addressing Global Issues—is even more relevant to industry leaders this year. In our first year, we were concerned with the impact of the global financial crisis and the threat of protectionism arising from that crisis and the future direction of the industry.

“Since then our concerns have largely shifted as outsourcing has regained momentum and companies everywhere struggle to sustain competitiveness in terms of efficiency, productivity, and responsiveness,” Sañez explained. “Our focus is now increasingly on the rapid evolution of the industry from primarily basic, non-core business services to high value-driven services in a broad array of sectors, from telecom and retail to biotechnology and financial advisory services.”

Approximately 300 executives in the offshore outsourcing industry from 15 countries are expected to attend the three-day conference and related events, which include an exhibit, gala dinners, and site tours, according to Jonathan de Luzuriaga, Tholons managing director for Southeast Asia. TeamAsia will produce the event, and provide organizational and general management, sponsor and exhibitor marketing, and delegate marketing services under BPA/P’s direction. It will also provide creative design, public relations, and web development services.
