Building the nation through events

Left and right we see associations in the country hosting large-scale meetings, launching roadmaps, and building strategic partnerships. Throughout the years, associations have proved to be pivotal in the growth of organizations and industries at large, as they enable members to learn from one another and work together towards a common goal. Ultimately, associations contribute to the economy through innovation, business development, and trade facilitation.

Considering how large association gatherings are instrumental in facilitating discussions, steering action towards a unified direction, and propelling organizations to achieve their nation-building goals, TeamAsia Managing Director Bea Lim gave association members a crash course on events management at a breakout session during the 5th PCAAE Associations Summit. Specifically, she highlighted the power of organizing impactful experiences in engaging audiences.

“At this day and age of disruption and tech there’s a lot of clutter, so it is crucial to make meaningful connections. This is where events come in. In an event, you can get people to see, feel, hear, taste, and smell your story. It is a wonderful opportunity to get in front of your audience, engage them and make their decisions count,” explained Bea.

Coming from her extensive experience in spearheading event-led communication campaigns, Bea advised the professionals to be wary of getting caught up in the intricacies of event management by never losing sight of their goals.

Quoting an old adage, Bea concluded, “If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan but never the goal.”

For the past 25 years, TeamAsia has been a staunch partner of associations in spearheading nation-building events and campaigns, including those of the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), League of Corporate Foundations (LCF), Philippine Association of Convention/Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers, Inc. (PACEOS), Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies – Philippines (4As Philippines), Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP), American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham), Joint Foreign Chambers of the Philippines (JFC), and Advertising Board of the Philippines (AdBoard) among others.

As an integrated marketing communications firm, events is TeamAsia’s first service, being the expertise of its founder and CEO Monette Iturralde-Hamlin, who is consequently the Chairperson of PACEOS.

Jointly organized by the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives and the Tourism Promotions Board, the 5th PCAAE Associations Summit aims to strengthen the impact of associations by elevating their standards of governance and management, specifically in terms of human capital, leadership, community building, brand management, and innovation.
