Global Academy offers baking courses for kids
Manila, Philippines — Ever get offered plastic cupcake treats fresh out of your child’s favorite toy oven? Maybe it’s time to make their fantasy games a reality! Summer is a wonderful time for kids to explore interests like baking and pastries outside of their regular curriculum.
This summer, award-winning culinary school Global Academy is offering Young Epicurean’s Basic Baking 1 & 2. “Baking is a great skill to have growing up. It’s also an activity that parents can use to bond with their kids,” said Global Academy Brand Manager, Anna Ledesma.
Children, 10 and up, will have a blast decorating their own sugar cookies, and making brownie ala mode and apple fritters through Sweet Bites, scheduled on May 3 and 24 from 1pm to 5pm. For young bakers who want to learn how to make butterscotch banana cream pie, chocolate mousse and mini oatmeal raisin muffins, Home Made Pastries will be held on May 10 or 31 from 1pm to 5pm.
Young Epicurean’s Basic Baking courses will be held at Global Academy’s Makati branch under the Epicurean Lab. The enrolment fee will be inclusive of one skullcap, one apron, copies of the recipes, and a certificate of completion. Students will be asked to bring food containers for their finished products.
