Hong Kong flares up Wine and Dine Month 2011

It’s that time of the year again to indulge in exquisite food and sample wines from around the world as Hong Kong celebrates its Wine and Dine Month from October 27 to November 30.

Wine lovers and foodies will once again gather in the Culinary Capital of Asia to have a taste of the finest wines and luscious food while enjoying the breathtaking cityscape of Hong Kong. This annual signature event highlights food promotions, entertainment hotspots, and exclusive hotel and accommodation offers to make the visitors’ and locals’ wine and dine experience even more remarkable.

Organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the 3rd Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival will be held at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, along the breathtaking view of Victoria Harbour.

Over 200 booths will offer fine wine and food tasting, while the exclusive Grand Tasting Pavilion reserved a larger area to display more choices of high-quality wines. The opening ceremony with the trade and media preview on the 27th will start from 6 pm to 8 pm, and will continue until 11pm for the general public. The second day of the Wine and Dine Festival on the 28th will start at 4 pm up to 11 pm, while on the 29th and the 30th, the festival will be open to the general public from 2 pm to 11 pm. Admission is free.

As the cold and exciting winter season approaches Hong Kong, more series of live entertainment, dine promotions, wine tours, food and wine pairing, and wine tasting classes will also be up for grabs this year from the city’s most popular food districts and party hotspots during the month-long celebration. Wine promotions such as Burgundy Week, Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair, and Winefuture Hong Kong 2011 are only some of the most anticipated highlights of the celebration.  Among other exciting must-visits in Hong Kong are entertainment hotspots including Lan Kwai Fong and Stanley.

Other events and highlights are also lined up to happen exclusively in the Asia’s World City toward the end of the year. The annual signature event Hong Kong Halloween Treats, from September to October 31, will give visitors and locals a thrilling funky Halloween experience the Hong Kong way. For music lovers, the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival will be grooving its way to the city from September 25 to October 2. The 2011 National Day Fireworks Display will light up the skies of Hong Kong on the first day of October, followed by the yearly art fair Fine Arts Asia from October 3 to 7.
