‘It’s time’: TeamAsia announces new leadership on 32nd anniversary

By Ralph Hernandez

Muntinlupa-based award-winning strategic integrated marketing agency TeamAsia has named managing director Bea Lim its new president and CEO as the company celebrated its 32nd anniversary.

The announcement was made during the agency’s first in-person town hall meeting since the COVID-19 pandemic. Bea is taking over the post of her mother and TeamAsia’s founder Monette Iturralde-Hamlin who will now sit as chairperson.

Bea has been the managing director since 2013 and is in charge of overall operations, driving TeamAsia’s world-class Integrated Marketing Experience practice, and spearheading its biggest campaigns in tech, telecommunications, IT-BPM, and development aid.

“This transition fills me with immense pride as I am confident my daughter Bea will lead TeamAsia with the same vision and values that Michael Alan Hamlin and I instilled from the beginning,” said Monette.

Bea will continue driving TeamAsia’s vision and mission forward, embodying its purpose deeply rooted in nation-building with her expertise in integrated communications, management, and business development.

Jeff Enriquez and Malou Martinez

The respective promotions of TeamAsia’s IT & Tech Capabilities director Jeff Enriquez to Vice President of Operations and Finance director Malou Martinez to Vice President of Finance were also announced during the town hall meeting.

Jeff has worked in TeamAsia since 2004, starting as a web developer before getting named Web Development director in 2009, took on the additional role of IT director in 2011 to become IT & Web director, and eventually IT & Tech Capabilities director after the merging of Digital, Creatives, and Web departments in 2021.

He has led and worked on website and technical capability projects that won several international awards like the WebAwards in 2009, 2012, and 2013, and the Philippine Quill Awards in 2009. Jeff also initiated the embrace of tech in events and currently leads the agency’s efforts in data privacy and security, business continuity, and internal risk management.

Malou, on the other hand, was a CPA board exam passer in 1978 and has been with TeamAsia since 2021 after several stints as finance director and chief financial officer in various US and Canada-based companies in the healthcare and auditing industries.

Under her leadership, TeamAsia improved finance processes and transparency reports especially during the pandemic. Malou has enabled growth and long-term sustainability for the agency through financial health.

“We are confident that the new leadership will ensure the next 32 years and more of making things happen so that people, brands, communities, industries, and the nation succeed,” said Monette. “Driving innovation, leading to inspire, and staying resilient will remain the core of TeamAsia.”

The management committee of TeamAsia (L-R back row): Pam Jocson, Jeff Enriquez, James Chiong, Joyce Alonzo, Lynda Consigo, (L-R front row) Malou Martinez, Shu Manalo, Monette Iturralde-Hamlin, Bea Lim, and Bev Aguilar

Amid the changes, the management committee reiterated its dedication to the agency’s goals of providing meaningful experiences, taking brands to the next level, and driving its various lines of business, Creatives, Digital, Events, and Public Relations, to flourish.

The new leadership also pledged to continue fostering collaboration and paving pathways to growth.

“These changes signify our commitment to excellence in integrated marketing experiences and creating and sustaining visibility for our partners. Most importantly, it serves as a testament to our dedication to cultivating the next generation of communication experts and honing a creative, safe, and inclusive workplace,” said Bea.

TeamAsia is a long-time partner of the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines, the enabling body of the industry, currently handling its PR efforts and in 2022 mounted the International Innovation Summit.

The agency is also working with Bounty, a large-scale industrial agriculture corporation, and Pointwest, a wholly Filipino-owned IT-BPM company for digital and PR; Himel, a global manufacturer of electrical products, for its digital campaign; and organized the most recent AI Summit in the Philippines. The Red Circle is the integrated publication of TeamAsia.
