Challenge

When the Jolly Hotdog leveled up – Jollibee Philippines wanted to engage their consumers and amplify the sales of the Jolly Hotdog through an epic in-store brand activation. TeamAsia was tasked to create an activation that would take the regular Jolly Hotdog experience to an EPIC level. TeamAsia prepared different EPIC Takeover Activations for those who would order Jolly Hotdog in-store, and through the drive-thru and delivery channels. A video production team documented the activity and it was then shared on Jollibee’s social media accounts through IG Story and Facebook.

Game Plan

TeamAsia conceptualized, executed, and documented different activities and epic surprises, amplifying the Jolly Hotdog “EPIC” campaign through different activations – in-store, drive thru, and delivery. First, we introduced the Epic Squad. Once a customer ordered a Jolly Hotdog, the Jollibee crew shouted “One Epic Jolly Hotdog!” The Epic squad then performed a 30-second cheer routine at the counter just for the customer. To cap off this epic routine, the customer received Jolly Hotdogs for free.

Second, we created an Epic Drive-Thru, where an Epic Jolly Hotdog poster was placed in front of the drive-thru entrance to encourage customers to order a Jolly Hotdog. Once a customer ordered a Jolly Hotdog, the Jollibee crew shouted, “One Epic Jolly Hotdog!” on the mic. The cashier tells the customer, “Please proceed to the next window for an Epic surprise!” There, the customer was greeted with a confetti blast and Jollibee himself serving the food order.

Third, we launched the Epic Delivery. The takeover started once a customer orders a Jolly Hotdog through the Jollibee Hotline. Once the Jollibee delivery arrived at the customer’s location, the customer came out, and the Epic Squad approached them while doing their dance routine with the Epic chant. The squad then revealed a big box filled with balloons and a stack of free Jolly Hotdogs.

Results

These epic experiences left a lasting impression on Jollibee’s customers. The element of surprise, the outsized service, and receiving more Jolly Hotdogs than they had originally ordered all adds up to an organic, epic,  experience.
