LCF CSR Expo 2011 all set

The 10th League of Corporate Foundations’ (LCF) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Expo is all set for July 20 and 21 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The LCF CSR Expo is an annual conference and exhibition bringing together representatives of various sectors to share insights and best practices on CSR. Over 400 participants from business, government, academe, media, and the general public have registered for the conference, which features 22 plenary and breakout sessions and over 60 high level speakers. This year’s theme is Taking CSR to New Heights

International speaker and entrepreneur Matthias Gelber will deliver the keynote address. Gelber was awarded the “Greenest Person on the Planet” by 3^rd Whale in Canada in 2008. He was recently honored by RFP Magazine with the 2011 Industry Champion Award for his green contributions in the region.

“It is about time to reflect on what CSR is to Filipinos,” said Ed Amistad, chairperson of the LCF CSR Expo 2011. “As LCF celebrates the Expo’s tenth year, our focus is on rethinking CSR to address current global changes. This milestone is also a time to renew our commitment to further improve our programs and initiatives.”

LCF has organized the annual CSR Expo to broaden the impact of CSR in the country. Previous themes include “Doing Well and Doing Good,” “Let’s Take CSR to Heart,” “Putting CSR to the Test,” “CSR is Everyone’s Business,” and “Synergizing for Change.”

Major topics this year include the proposed CSR bill, integrating triple bottom line CSR into the business structure, revisiting CSR strategies for long-term impact, and assessing and developing effective CSR practices.

Case studies on how small and medium enterprises effectively manage CSR will also be featured, as well as a special ASEAN CSR Network session. Students and teachers may also register for the free CSR 101 lecture series.
