League of Corporate Foundations announces CSR Expo, launches event website

Manila, Philippines — The League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) has announced that its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Expo will be held on July 20 and 21 at the SMX Convention Center.

Adopting the theme “Taking CSR to New Heights,” the tenth CSR Expo will showcase the best and latest trends, practices, and models on CSR. This year’s two-day event will feature different CSR topics such as CSR’s crucial role in increasing business competitiveness; attracting and retaining talent; the various ways CSR is practiced within different organizations; and measuring and communicating CSR activities in the plenary and breakout sessions. There will be a discourse on current issues such as the CSR bill and whether CSR should be mandatory or voluntary. Participating companies will share first hand-experiences on how they respond to economic, social, and environmental challenges and still maintain their CSR activities. Aside from the conference proper, there will also be an exhibit of LCF, its members, partners, and other organizations to showcase their CSR initiatives and activities, as well as free CSR 101 sessions for students.

In line with the event, LCF has launched the CSR Expo 2011 website and a countdown to event day. Information on the event such as conference schedules, topics, speakers, and registration details will be posted and updated at www.lcf.org.ph/csrexpo2011.

“We are especially excited for this year’s CSR Expo because LCF is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and everyone is contributing even more to make this year’s conference extra special,” said Eli de Castro, LCF executive director.

The LCF CSR Expo is the largest annual gathering of CSR practitioners and representatives from the business community, government, civil society, academe, and media to learn and share best practices, discuss ideas, and address issues about CSR. The Expo will build on the success of last-year’s CSR Expo, which was the first large-scale green conference in the country.

LCF is an umbrella foundation composed of more than 70 corporations and corporate foundations in the Philippines. It helps its members to promote CSR and contribute to CSR practices through effective and strategic corporate social investments among its members. It has been organizing the CSR Expo since 2001, and will be celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
