Manila, Philippines — QBE Insurance Group remains as Australia’s top ranked insurance brand according to Brand Finance, a brand valuation consultancy that releases the list of Australia’s 100 most valuable brands annually.
QBE captured the 14th spot with a brand value of US$1,611 million from last year’s US$1,662 million. Although it slipped two spots from its position in 2013, QBE remained to be ahead among Australia’s major insurance players—Wesfarmers at 16th place, Insurance Australia Group at 71th spot, and Wesfarmers’ subsidiary WFI at the 91st slot.
Brand Finance measures the brand value of companies by assessing factors including customers’ emotional connections, financial performance and forecast results.
“We are privileged to be part of QBE’s global division efforts. As a division of QBE Insurance Group, we ensure that the company’s established brand value is maintained in our Philippine operations by giving quality customer service and a speedy and efficient processing of transactions of our global customers,” said Karen Batungbacal, Executive General Manager of QBE GSSC. “The need for global support is significantly growing. From our establishment in Manila in 2013 to our expansion in Cebu this year, QBE GSSC aims to employ over 1,000 more staff this year.”
In 2013, QBE ranked 411th in Forbes 2000 World’s Biggest Public Companies and 4th out of 24 companies in the Property and Casualty Insurance category.
