Oppo Reno5 Launch

Challenge

OPPO is a leading global smart device brand. Since the launch of its first mobile phone – “Smiley Face” – in 2008, OPPO has been in relentless pursuit of the perfect synergy of aesthetic satisfaction and innovative technology. Today, OPPO provides a wide range of smart devices spearheaded by the Find and Reno series. One of the smartphones that they launched this 2021 was OPPO Reno5 Series.

The task was to position OPPO Reno5 Series as an outstanding smartphone for Millennials and Gen Zs for their video and content creation and gaming experience and increase brand consideration among young market especially with saturated smartphone market in the Philippines.

Game Plan

TeamAsia leveraged on the current landscape trends on content and video creation and gaming among Millennials and Gen Zs, especially on TikTok and live streams where they can quickly share creative content with friends and loved ones. The team prepared a campaign that helped facilitate a collaboration with esteemed tech content creators to showcase why Reno5 Series and its key features such as AI Highlight Video, Dual View Video, and Portrait Beautification Video are promising when it comes to content creation and gaming. Through this, we aimed to release content via top tier media outlets that highlights tech innovation in Reno5 Series and show how OPPO always strives to provide technology that are aligned with today’s consumer needs to boost brand credibility.

Results

The campaign resulted in over 910 pickups from January to July 2021 (from warm up to sustain phase) with a total Public Relations Value of PHP 131,174,537 and a total reach of 244,834,184 values. This resulted in OPPO ranking #1 in the share of voice specifically for the week of February 1 and placed 3rd overall in the month of February due to OPPO Reno5 Series.
