Philippine BPO experts grace Fifth Annual Call Center and Training Convention

Second annual BPO Training Excellence Awards to recognize industry achievements

Manila, Philippines – TeleDevelopment Services Inc. (TDS), the country’s premier training, consulting, and human capital outsourcing company, is hosting its Fifth Annual Call Center and Training Convention, themed “The Web Effect: Collaboration. Interdependence. Growth.” Speakers include Penny Bongato, Executive Director of Talent Development, BPAP; Gerry Plana, Executive Director of PMAP; Joji Aguila, Training Director-ASPAC for ACS-Xerox; Gina Hechanova, Executive Director of Ateneo CORD; Jonathan De Luzuriaga, Executive Vice President, Cibi Information, Inc.; Dave Edgel, Director of Sales Development, inContact; Jai Sahney, Director Collaboration Business, ASEAN and Korea, Cisco Systems; and Linda Chando, VP of Call Center Services, Cybercity Teleservices, to name a few. The convention will focus on the latest learning technologies and techniques, and collaborative online tools.

The convention, which will be held on February 22 to 23 at the New World Hotel in Makati, features 12 learning threads with accent on an eclectic mix of learning methodologies, tools and practices leading up to how collaboration is achieved synergistically and effectively. Panel discussions participated in by experts in human capital management; training, quality management, and organizational development weigh in on timely issues such as the value of certification in the BPO industry, talent and learning management systems, and quality tools in organizational development.

“We are excited to organize an important event that recognizes excellence in training and learning in the BPO industry,” said Monette Iturralde-Hamlin, president of TeamAsia who is handling the convention. “The industry is facing numerous challenges, and none is more pressing than developing talent using the right organizational strategies and the latest online and social technologies. We recognize the value of training and human resource management in ensuring that the BPO industry keeps up with demand for talent, which is why we are privileged to have been chosen to work with TDS again,” she stated.

The convention culminates in the BPO Training Excellence Awards, which recognizes corporations and individuals in the BPO profession that consistently exemplify world-class standards, best practices, innovation, and excellence in the BPO and contact centre industry.
