Redefining Asian hospitality through education

Dusit Hospitality Management College to open soon in Metro Manila

When a world-class hospitality management college opens in Manila, expect the entire industry to take notice. Dusit International (Dusit Hotels & Resorts) is individually collaborating with Switzerland’s École hôtelière de Lausanne and France’s Institut Paul Bocuse for Dusit Hospitality Management College (DHMC), a college ready to elevate Asian hospitality.

“Filipinos are known to be one of the most hospitable and talented people in the world and we want to bring them a school that meets global standards,” says Ron Hilvert, managing director of the college. “A collaboration of this magnitude can change the hospitality industry.”

Each institution will contribute to a world-class curriculum that will come to define DHMC: Dusit International’s world-class hospitality delivered with the iconic touches of Thailand’s artistry, École hôtelière de Lausanne’s years of experience as the first hospitality management school in the world, and Institut Paul Bocuse’s approach of combining tradition and innovation using the French art of cuisine.

“We want to meet the growing demand for hoteliers and the Philippines provides the right setting for this industry to prosper,” adds Hilvert.

It will be located at the Mini Parkway in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. Once completed, it will be fully-integrated in the soon-to-be-launched dusitD2, a contemporary diffusion hotel line of Dusit International, where students will have the benefit of training at an international hotel. To date, DHMC is undergoing accreditation from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

“We believe in providing the kind of education where students are rooted in the environment they will eventually work in,” shares Khun Suphajee Suthumpun, group chief executive officer of Dusit International. “We’re ready to launch the next generation of Filipino world-class hoteliers and restaurateurs. Our future alumni will set the new standards for the industry, whether they work in the Philippines or abroad.”
