TeamAsia enhances visibility with social media services for clients

(Manila, Philippines, April 26, 2011) – Award-winning marketing communications firm TeamAsia has incorporated social media marketing in its public relations services to enhance and sustain brand visibility for a variety of clients, including Crocs Philippines, Aloha Boardsports, the International Outsourcing Summit (IOS), and the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF).

“There is incredible opportunity to generate visibility in social media for both B2C and B2B companies and other organizations. Social media augments our public and media relations strategy, providing a larger but focused online audience, and the means to interact and develop meaningful relationships with that audience,” said TeamAsia managing director Michael Alan Hamlin.

ITU, the UN agency for information and communication technologies, reported that the number of Filipino Internet users increased to 30 million in 2010, or about 30% of the Philippines’ population. It is a leader in terms of Facebook and Twitter user penetration. According to comScore, which measures online activity, the Philippines has the highest Facebook penetration among Internet users in the world at 93.7%, and it is the eighth largest country on Twitter with 13.8% user penetration.

TeamAsia has provided social media marketing support for Crocs Philippines since 2009 and has grown its Facebook fan base to almost 30,000. “Having a Facebook fan page is an absolute must for retailers because it enables regular and meaningful engagement with customers. The page can be valuable real estate for sustaining brand visibility and promoting new products,” said Hamlin.

The firm also leverages social media to generate visibility for major corporate events such as the IOS and the LCF’s CSR Expo. “We provided social media marketing for LCF for the CSR Expo last year and are doing so again this year. The Twitter platform, in particular, is useful for generating leads for potential partners, attracting delegates leading up to events, and obtaining attendee feedback during the events.

“We also post updates as they occur during events to broadcast information which delegates can benefit from while providing greater visibility for our sponsors,” said TeamAsia President Monette Iturralde-Hamlin.

TeamAsia develops place, corporate, and personal brand strategies, creative concepts, and marketing communications programs and campaigns incorporating events, public relations, and Web 2.0 tools for its clients.
