(Manila, Philippines, September 11, 2013) — Strategic marketing communications firm TeamAsia bagged the Marketing Standard of Excellence award in the US-based Web Marketing Association’s (WMA) 2013 WebAwards for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development for the Pilipinas Go4Health website of the Philippine Department of Health (DOH).
“We are honored to have been recognized again this year by the WebAwards,” said Bea Lim, TeamAsia managing director. “This award is proof that website development continues to be an important channel for engaging various sectors to support an important cause like the Pilipinas Go4Health.”
DOH, the principal health agency in the Philippines, tapped TeamAsia to develop the communications campaign for its nationwide healthy lifestyle movement, Pilipinas Go4Health.
Pilipinas Go4Health is the nationwide healthy lifestyle movement spearheaded by DOH and its partners. It aims to inform and encourage Filipinos from all walks of life to practice a healthy lifestyle by making a personal commitment to physical activity, proper nutrition, and the prevention or cessation of smoking and alcohol consumption. Through the movement, DOH and its partners work together to promote and establish a sustainable environment for healthy living.
The website, www.go4health.ph, features a content management system which enables editors, administrators, and authors to effectively manage website updates. Its precise and easy navigation option makes it user-friendly. The website’s interactive feature is highly attributed to its integration with other DOH social media pages, including Facebook and Twitter.
“As a health movement that hopes to impact the lives of Filipinos, Pilipinas Go4Health carries a very important message: simple lifestyle changes can mean a lot for our overall well-being. And that needs to be communicated to the growing online population,” said Lim. In the Philippines, there are 33 million Filipinos who access the Internet regularly and this number is expected to grow exponentially by 2016.
The website was created by a team composed of Camille Revilla, project lead; Jeff Enriquez, web development director; Karen Azupardo, editorial director; John Gonzalez, creative director; Marvin Desuasido and Darell Sapin, web developers; Patrick de Jesus, web designer; and Niña Oli-Roy, content writer.
“This award reminds us why we love what we do and inspires us to always put our best foot forward,” said Jeff Enriquez, TeamAsia web development director. “Despite having different ideas, our team always finds ways to overcome challenges simply by working together and setting our differences aside.”
This is the fifth year TeamAsia has received recognition in the WebAwards. Last year, it won three awards, including the Outstanding Website award for Gurango Software Corporation (GSC), the Events Standard of Excellence award for the 2012 International Outsourcing Summit (IOS), and the Retail Standard of Excellence award for Retail Specialist, Inc (RSI).
The WebAwards recognizes outstanding websites across 96 industries. Now in its 17th year, the competition provides an aspiring benchmark for effective web development. Competition judges assumed the role of target audience in reviewing each website entry, and scored a maximum of 70 points based on standards of design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting, and ease of use.
