Last 2019, TeamAsia took steps to spark changes that can improve our nation’s future. We helped our clients thrive, because their success went beyond their own companies and created a positive impact on society. We put the spotlight on empowerment, recognizing the value of each person’s individuality. Most importantly, we continued to encourage a culture of bayanihan and camaraderie, because change isn’t just the responsibility of one person.
Fueled by our passion and commitment to nation-building, we’ve worked hand in hand with our partners to create impactful and meaningful campaigns. We designed these campaigns to make a difference and create platforms for change. Here are the campaigns we were especially proud of in 2019:
Women @ Work, Accelerate.Create.Transform. (ACT) in a Digital World
The Women’s Business Council of the Philippines (WomenBizPH) is the leading voice of women in commerce. The council, composed of the country’s top women business leaders and entrepreneurs, serves as a platform to discuss women’s issues in business as well as possible government policies and solutions. WomenBizPH is led by their president Monette Iturralde-Hamlin, TeamAsia’s very own founder and president.
TeamAsia worked hand in hand with WomenBizPH for their annual Women’s Business and Leadership Summit entitled Women @ Work, Accelerate.Create.Transform. (ACT) in a Digital World. The conference featured young women in the digital and technological sphere. They talked about creating, capturing, and delivering value using ICT and digital tools, now imperative in ways of doing business. Highlights of some commissioned research on access to finance, inclusive business, and women in STEM and on boards were also presented.
“The WomenBizPH Summit 2019 brought together many women leaders who have inspired aspiring women leaders to break through the glass ceiling when it comes to doing business, especially in today’s digital era. The event empowered women leaders to continue reaching for their dreams and goals while breaking gender stereotypes.”

International Innovation Summit 2019
TeamAsia has always supported the growth of the IT-BPM industry, continuously working with the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) to create more opportunities for Filipinos across the country. We’ve also supported one of IBPAP’s biggest events – the annual International Innovation Summit (IIS) – for ten years now.
IIS brings together global leaders to discuss global issues surrounding the IT-BPM industry, one of the main economic drivers of the Philippines. Industry stakeholders have the opportunity to learn new insights and network with the industry’s leaders and experts. Last year, the event’s objective was to move the IT-BPM agenda forward — with the Philippines at the front and center.
“Nation building is at the core of the Summit for 2019. IIS discussed the current situation that the industry is facing — from the challenges of talent development and AI to policy-shaping and the recalibration of the industry’s roadmap 2022, IIS 2019 is really about leading the charge, withstanding headwinds, and driving the future of IT-BPM today.
“TeamAsia is helping build the nation through the IT-BPM industry; an industry that provides direct jobs to over 1.2 million Filipinos and another 4 million in indirect jobs across the country.”
–Elton Gagni, TeamAsia’s Editorial lead for the IIIS 2019
“This campaign succeeded largely because of the team that put up every aspect of it, hand in hand. Everyone understood what the goal was — to make a positive impact on the IT-BPM industry.
“IIS 2019 heavily focused on determining the challenges and opportunities of the IT-BPM industry. It paved the way in opening up discussions on creating solutions and how to bring the industry to its next phase. It brings forth the acquired knowledge and insights from different respected professionals. These insights can turn into viable solutions — creating more job opportunities and expanding the PH network.”

Philippine Startup Week 2019
The Philippine Startup Week 2019 (PHSW2019) is the country’s first large-scale collaborative initiative by the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, QBO Innovation Hub, and various private agencies. The summit featured various opportunities to discover the latest advancements in tech and innovation, network with key players in the ecosystem, and engage with the most promising startups in the country.
PHSW2019 offered a series of events across the country, each highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit and technological innovations of Philippine startups and startup enablers. Sixty nationwide events happened simultaneously across the country in five days. This included a three-day main summit, breakout events organized by various community partners, and night fests for the startup community to network and celebrate together. TeamAsia was the proud event partner of PHSW2019 for their main summit.
“The highlight of the first ever Philippine Startup Week was the startups themselves, and how they are finally being acknowledged for their hard work. It’s about time that they receive the recognition they deserve!
“For this event, we had a very short amount of time to work with four different agencies. There were also simultaneous events happening all over the country, but we were able to make it happen. The summit also became the venue for the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) signing of the Startup Bill, which is crucial for both entrepreneurs and startups in the country. It was definitely the cherry on top!”

The Arangkada Philippines Forum 2019
Last November, TeamAsia organized the eighth Arangkada Philippines Anniversary Forum, entitled Turning on the T.A.P. (Tourism, Agribusiness, and Power), which put a spotlight on the policy briefs on Tourism, Agribusiness, and Power through industry-focused discussions. Members of both public and private sectors shared relevant insights as they tackled key policies and projects to support high economic growth in these sectors under the Duterte Administration. These policies and projects also support the realization of Ambisyon Natin by 2040.
“The event elevated the value of three sectors that are seemingly different but are actually interdependent: tourism, agribusiness, and power. The potential of the tourism sector continues to soar, but the development of the agribusiness sector is in need of higher prioritization; power, which drives these and all other sectors, is experiencing challenges on sustainability. The Arangkada Forum significantly contributes to nation building because it serves as a platform that fosters high-level, action-driven discussions on these important sectors.”
-Gena Esperanza, TeamAsia’s Sponsorship Manager for the Arangkada Philippines Forum 2019
Schneider Electric
Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, believes that access to energy and digital is a basic human right. Staying true to its commitment to ensure that Life Is On for everyone, everywhere, at every moment. Last 2019, TeamAsia was a proud partner of Schneider Electric in its success in transforming cities, reshaping industries, and enriching lives.
“The highlight of TeamAsia’s campaign with Schneider Electric is being able to share stories that talk about the brand’s different segments including, business, sustainability, and education. We worked with a brand that is so deeply rooted when it comes to its core which is Life is On and providing Innovation at Every Level.
“Launching the first Smart Factory in the Philippines, amplifying communications to reach more students to participate in the annual global case challenge that is Go Green in the City, and celebrating brand partnerships to empower everyone to become smart consumers of energy are just some of the initiatives that we did for Schneider Electric. We truly believe that these have contributed to building the nation one market segment or another.”
–Elton Gagni, TeamAsia’s Editorial lead for Schneider Electric
“Being a part of Schneider Electric’s mission of ensuring that Life is On for everyone is one of the few things I take pride in. Witnessing the launch of their first Smart Factory has opened the possibility for other businesses to be more productive, efficient, and sustainable. Schneider Electric enables homes, industries, and businesses to save on cost and energy consumption with the help of digital transformation.
“We are also paving the way for conservation and maximization of energy to ensure that Life is On everywhere, for everyone, at every moment. Schneider Electric helps build a nation that makes the most out of its energy and resources.”
-Vince Gapit, TeamAsia’s Media Relations lead for Schneider Electric
My Dream in a Shoebox
My Dream in a Shoebox is TeamAsia’s annual education campaign that aims to give less fortunate Filipino children with the school supplies that will help them find a brighter future. This empowers underprivileged children to fight poverty through education. Every pledge helps us prepare our future leaders and movers of society to make their bigger dreams come true.
“This year we were able to really be with our communities, doing different activities like workshops and dream mapping. We also got the opportunity to strengthen our relationships with our scholars and their parents.
“With My Dream in a Shoebox, we are empowering and believing in people — specifically children. We are helping them build their dreams while letting them know that there are people who have their backs. We reach out to underprivileged kids to help them with their education — a big factor when it comes to nation building. The youth are the future of our nation, and we are helping build them up at a young age.”
-Clarisse Salindato, TeamAsia’s marketing lead for My Dream in a Shoebox
“My Dream in a Shoebox is a life-long journey towards helping children around the country to reach their dreams in life. Shoeboxes can now be a foundation for a brighter future for underprivileged kids. This simple initiative continuously provides educational tools and expenses to children from remote communities — making education accessible to every kid around the country.
“This campaign empowers the youth and makes them realize the importance of education for a better and brighter future. This helps our nation develop responsible, passionate, and motivated people who can contribute to the growing success of the country.”
–Evian Cenita, TeamAsia’s Digital lead for My Dream in a Shoebox
“The volunteers and donors of this campaign are proof that more and more people are willing to help children have a better future through education. A simple shoebox inspires these children to learn. Every child who receives a shoebox does so with a smile on their face, and that is one of the most fulfilling things about this campaign. TeamAsia is happy every time we get to help.
“Putting children in schools and inspiring them to learn via our shoeboxes helps our nation to have a better workforce in the future. These children will soon become doctors, teachers, engineers, IT professionals, or whatever they dream to be.”
-Jeff Enriquez, TeamAsia’s Web and IT head for My Dream in a Shoebox
We have an affinity for partners that have a purpose because that is TeamAsia’s mission. Our goal to share compelling and meaningful stories strengthens our desire to make an impact on the nation. 2019 was a step toward the country’s growth — from celebrating Pinoy pride and supporting innovation in various industries, to pushing for different types of empowerment and sustainability. TeamAsia took on these opportunities to build a better future by creating genuine connections between brands, their missions, and their publics.
The end of the year doesn’t mark the end of the work that needs to be done; we see 2020 as the chance to do more, with and for our partners.
