The Importance of Meaningful Agency Partnerships

By Bea Lim, President and CEO

For over 32 years, TeamAsia has been at the forefront of integrated marketing, bringing together brands, industries, and communities to create lasting impact. Much like love, true partnerships thrive on trust, commitment, and a shared vision—qualities that make Valentine’s Day the perfect reminder of why meaningful connections matter.

Recently, my mom, founder and chairperson Monette Iturralde-Hamlin, and I have been talking about what partnerships mean for TeamAsia. Beyond delivering innovative strategies, we wholeheartedly agreed that the agency thrives on authentic, value-driven partnerships. Our purpose has always been to make things happen so other people can succeed, whether they are individuals, brands, industries, communities, and, ultimately, our nation.

Mom puts it best, “True value in partnerships isn’t just about results. It’s about the shared vision, trust, and commitment that drives us to succeed.” She shared that through our agency partnerships, we create a more responsible and sustainable world for succeeding generations. When we collaborate with organizations that prioritize sustainability, diversity, good governance and innovation, we create ecosystems that uplift our communities.

At our core, we define partnerships not as transactional relationships but as deep, interwoven collaborations built on shared values and mutual goals. We take the time to understand each partner’s vision, mission, and purpose, ensuring that the strategies we develop align with their unique aspirations. From thorough onboarding to insightful kickoff meetings, we invest in getting to know our partners beyond their immediate needs because we want to aim for long term results with positive impact.

We also balance professionalism with authenticity, building relationships rooted in trust and transparency. Some of our agency partnerships have been with us for 15 to 20 years—we grab coffee (or wine) and chat about life updates and our families, but when it’s time to work, we get to work, we focus and we work hard. Together.  Honest communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment drive these connections. And when we say honest communication, two-way feedback systems work. These feedbacking sessions allow each partner to grow and continuously improve. I personally love getting feedback from clients as this shows we are in this together, we want each other to succeed. But the key here is trust. When you trust each other fully, feedback is seen and valued as a friend, not a scary foe.

As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our mission to create meaningful and impact-driven collaborations. Partnerships are not business transactions. We invest in our partners’ success, ensuring that we grow together, as they equally invest in us with their trust and their time. As Mom always reminds me, the best partnerships, like the best relationships, are built on top of a deep commitment to each other’s success. Moms truly know best.

The celebration of love is everywhere. And for us TeamAsians, we are here because we love what we do, who we do it for and who we do it with. We are incredibly grateful for all our partners and proud to be doing great work for our communities and our country. To our partners, you absolutely rock! We honor you today and everyday.
