Challenge
The Blue Leaf Events Spaces and top food and travel blog Our Awesome Planet wanted to mount a series of events that would pair 11 of the top chefs in the Philippines with 11 of the best caterers, creating 11 new signature menus. This event, entitled Who’s Cooking, had three key objectives: to promote The Blue Leaf Events Spaces and its caterers as innovative members of the food community; to collaborate with chefs and produce premium menus that will bring excitement to Metro Manila’s events scene; to host activities that generate content which can be used for The Blue Leaf Events Spaces’ social and traditional media platforms.
The Blue Leaf Events Spaces also wanted to be known as not only an event space for weddings but as a brand with a passion for the food industry and a home of great food for events. They tapped TeamAsia for Who’s Cooking to plan, execute, and promote them through digital and traditional public relations initiatives.
Game Plan
TeamAsia’s vision for Who’s Cooking was for it to be The Food Event of 2019, gathering together food lovers looking for an unforgettable culinary experience from our country’s top chefs and caterers. This event also gave them a taste of the amazing food that could only be found in celebrations at Blue Leaf Events Spaces.
While TeamAsia’s Experience team went to work in building the event, the public relations teams crafted the story and spread the word of this unprecedented collaboration between chefs and caterers.
Through the use of social media, we highlighted each of the 11 pairs of chefs and caterers with the hashtag #ChefsXCaterers. These posts were shared by the chefs and caterers to their followers which included top food journalists, bloggers, and influential foodies which created a buzz leading up to the Grand Reveal. During the event itself, our digital team did live coverage through The Blue Leaf Events Spaces’ Instagram page and stories.
The media were also invited to experience the unique food prepared by the teams and to talk to the collaborators themselves. A press release discussed The Blue Leaf Events Spaces’ first-of-its-kind chef x caterer collaboration. It also highlighted the signature dishes and the grand set-ups of each pair. A second press release was seeded a few weeks after the event. The article talked about the new menus from the Who’s Cooking collaborations matched with the wide variety of celebrations held at The Blue Leaf Events Spaces. It also emphasized that the Who’s Cooking menus are exclusively available at The Blue Leaf Events Spaces.
